How to Outsource Business Tasks & Scale Without Entrepreneur Burnout

Linh Podetti

Building a multi-million dollar business doesn't require working 80 hours a week. In fact, scaling sustainably requires doing the exact opposite: delegating low-leverage tasks so you can focus on strategy, relationships, and innovation.
1. Identify Your Bottleneck Tasks Start by tracking your daily activity for one week. Categorize every task into: - **$10/hr tasks**: Data entry, calendar management, inbox filtering. - **$100/hr tasks**: Customer service, content publishing, basic reporting. - **$1,000/hr tasks**: Strategic partnerships, offer optimization, high-ticket sales.
Anything in the $10/hr and $100/hr categories should be delegated to a virtual assistant or system.
2. Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Before handing off a task, record a quick 5-minute video walkthrough (using Loom or Zoom). Document the 3 key components: - **Input**: What triggers this task? - **Process**: Exact steps to complete the task. - **Definition of Done**: What does a completed, high-quality result look like?
3. Hire for Culture & Train for Skill When building an offshore team, prioritize alignment with your core values, work ethic, and communication style. Skills can be taught rapidly with clear SOPs; culture fit ensures long-term retention.
